Terrorists have killed a Catholic priest, Reverend Father Joseph Aketeh Bako, who was abducted in Kaduna, recently.

The 48-year-old Bako was abducted in March from his residence at Saint John’s Catholic Church in Kudenda, Kaduna.

The death of the Catholic priest was announced in a statement by the Chancellor, Christian Okewu Emmanuel.

“We have carefully verified that the unfortunate event took place between 18th and 20th of April, 2022 at the hands of his abductors,” Emmanuel said.

Most Reverend Matthew Man’Oso Ndagoso, the Archbishop of Kaduna, has since extended his deepest sympathies to his immediate family and the entire Catholic community of St John’s, Kudenda, and assured them of his fraternal closeness and prayers,” Emmanuel said.

“Details of his funeral arrangements will be communicated as soon as they are ready. Meanwhile, kindly continue to pray for his peaceful repose and for the consolation of the bereaved Christian community in the Archdiocese of Kaduna.”
